About the Role:
In this role, you will deliver engaging workshops, coaching, and one-to-one mentoring sessions that foster outstanding learning outcomes and support students with both academic and personal development needs. You will play a key part in ensuring exceptional student welfare, guiding learners through their transition into college and onward progression into employment or further study. By helping students set and achieve personalized goals, tracking progress, and encouraging reflection, you will nurture resilience and growth. Building strong, positive relationships, you will also lead on work experience opportunities, preparing students for the workplace and facilitating employer engagement. Alongside this, you will provide high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance across all aspects of student life, while contributing to SEND reforms through the monitoring and review of EHCP targets.
About the Organisation:
The College operates across three main campuses in Stevenage and Hitchin, employing over 650 staff. With a turnover of £30m, the college provides learning opportunities to over 10,000 students each year from study programmes for 16-18 year olds and apprenticeships through to adult provision locally, regionally and nationally. We were judged Good by Ofsted at our last inspection in December 2023, with outstanding features.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Roles and Responsibilities
3. Deliver and support consistently good or better workshop and coaching sessions, incorporating an effective range of learning methods that enable outstanding learning outcomes for students.
4. Deliver one-to-one mentoring sessions to support students with emotional and behavioural needs to reduce the impact on attendance, achievement and retention of students.
5. Ensure all areas of student welfare, both educational and personal are exceptional;
6. Assist students with the transition into College, including the application, admissions, enrolment and entry guidance processes and then with their chosen progression route, including the preparation of references.
7. Support students to develop longer term goals that promote appropriate destination outcomes linked to either employment or future study.
8. Support students to reflect on and evaluate their progress, negotiating personalised short term targets and tracking and reviewing progress against these.
9. Develop a positive working relationship with students, particularly in respect of their conduct and behaviour.
10. Take the lead on work experience, coordinating placements, preparing students for the workplace and supporting independence access to employer engagement activities.
11. Provide Information, Advice and Guidance support to students on all aspects of student life, progression and employment outcomes.
12. To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested by the line manager, or any more senior manager.
13. Comply with all aspects of the SEND Reforms including the monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and contribute to the EHCP annual review process.
