General Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon
The post holder will be required to perform a range of ophthalmology appointments on patients referred to CHEC and provide supervision of the provision of adult community ophthalmology services delivered by healthcare professionals, working in accordance with CHEC treatment protocols and working practices.
Main duties of the job
Day to day, the post holder will deliver high quality clinical care to patients attending the community ophthalmology service in the following areas:General OphthalmologyGlaucoma servicesAMDLaser treatmentMinor eye OperationsHigh volume phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia if applicable

Job responsibilities
To be successful in this roleTo continue with our support for the NHS, we are looking for experienced general ophthalmologists of all grades to undertake consultation clinics and/or ophthalmic surgeries across the range of services we offer. Applicants will be expected to have an excellent clinical quality record and be able to demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently independently in clinics/theatre. Applicants will also need to demonstrate commitment to excellent teamwork.
