This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an award-winning Centre of Excellence Multi‑disciplinary Team. As a senior Physiotherapist you will assess and treat complex patients with Parkinson’s and atypical conditions, build further specialist knowledge, and teach patients, staff and the public about managing the condition. Your assessment and treatment programmes will enable patients to maximise their potential through 1:1 sessions and groups, reducing the risk of hospital admission. You will liaise with external community services and agencies to provide a comprehensive service and have opportunities for learning at national and international conferences.
Responsibilities
* Comprehensive physiotherapy assessment of patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s or atypical conditions.
* Develop and provide a treatment programme to increase or maintain patients’ strength, balance and gait throughout their condition, as possible.
* Work with therapy assistants to provide treatment sessions on a 1:1 or in a group.
* Be involved in service development and initiate new ideas for improving patient care.
* Be involved in education for patients, staff and the public about managing the condition.
