The University Club of Western Australia is situated on the banks of the Swan River within the heritage-listed grounds of The University of Western Australia. With over 4,000 members, the Club features a casual café, a fine dining restaurant, and 16 advanced private function rooms. It also manages University Theatres, comprising eight venues across the university.
The Club is currently seeking an experienced and professional Finance Manager for a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. This hands-on executive role reports directly to the General Manager and oversees all aspects of the finance function.
The Role
* Lead monthly management accounting including journal processing, reconciliations, and variance analysis
* Prepare annual financial statements and manage the external audit process
* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements (BAS, payroll tax, ASIC) as Company Secretary
* Oversee the payroll function
* Manage food and beverage inventory, including stocktakes and variance analysis
* Develop and monitor budgets with input from all stakeholders
* Review and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
* Supervise and provide guidance to the finance team
* Undertake ad hoc project work as required
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
* Hold CA or CPA qualifications
* Demonstrate strong financial management and analytical skills
* Exhibit excellent leadership and team management capabilities
* Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
* Experience in hospitality finance is desirable
Additional Info
This is a fixed-term contract requiring valid Australian work rights for the contract duration. A National Police Clearance and reference checks will be conducted for successful candidates.
