At Severfield we specialise in high‑value nuclear and infrastructure projects. We offer a senior leadership role as Nuclear Project Director for the Hinkley Point C contract, responsible for the full delivery of a complex project with excellence in safety, quality, budget control and programme performance.
Responsibilities
 * Lead and manage the Project Management Function, providing full accountability for safety, quality, budget and programme delivery.
 * Champion a safety‑first culture across all project activities.
 * Ensure all deliverables meet Severfield’s high standards and maintain quality assurance.
 * Monitor and control project budgets, reporting deviations.
 * Oversee off‑site scheduling, milestone tracking and programme management.
 * Coordinate design deliverables, approvals and drawing office control.
 * Manage procurement of bought‑out components and supplier relationships.
 * Collaborate with internal departments to align project goals and support cross‑departmental initiatives.
 * Act as the primary point of contact for client requirements and expectations.
 * Approve scope and programme changes, managing impacts.
 * Drive continuous improvement by ensuring adherence to project processes and suggesting enhancements.
Key Skills & Experience
 * Proven leadership of complex, high‑value nuclear or defence projects, with a deep understanding of regulatory and safety requirements.
 * Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams (typically 50+ personnel).
 * Track record of delivering nuclear projects valued at £100 million or more, meeting budget, programme and quality expectations.
 * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
 * Ability to inspire high performance and lead with authority across teams.
 * Skilled in stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict resolution.
