Sterling Arrow is proud to be partnering with an award-winning town planning and development consultancy operating throughout the UK. Our client provides expert planning, land, public engagement and strategic development advice to a wide range of clients.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of residential projects, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to join their expanding London team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of residential projects from initial appraisal through to determination, working closely with UK housebuilders and developers. You will operate with a high level of autonomy while contributing to the strategic growth of the London office.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clear, commercially focused and strategic planning advice to residential developers.
* Lead and manage residential planning applications from inception to determination.
* Undertake site appraisals, feasibility assessments and planning strategy development.
* Prepare, submit and manage major and minor residential applications and appeals.
* Represent clients at Planning Committees, hearings and public consultations.
* Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary consultant teams.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery.
* Contribute to business development activities and help secure new residential instructions.
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum 4+ years’ experience working with UK developers.
* Proven track record managing residential planning applications within the private sector.
* Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) or working towards full RTPI membership.
* Strong technical knowledge of the UK planning system and residential planning policy.
* Sound commercial awareness and understanding of development viability.
* Experience managing projects independently and meeting tight deadlines.
* Excellent written, analytical and report‑writing skills.
* Confident communicator with strong client‑facing and stakeholder management abilities.
* Proactive, solutions‑focused and collaborative approach.
