Marine Application Engineer
Salary: up to £50,000 depending on experience & a company bonus of up to 10%
Location: Warwick with hybrid working and UK-wide travel

As a Marine Application Engineer, you will provide technical application support across the Volvo Penta marine engine range. You will work closely with OEMs, boat builders, dealerships and end users to support installations from initial design and specification through to commissioning and sea trials. This is a practical, customer facing role focused on ensuring our products are installed, tested and performing as intended in real-world applications.

Who are you?
You are naturally curious, technically confident and motivated by solving real-world engineering challenges. You enjoy building trusted relationships and translating complex technical details into clear, practical solutions.
What you will bring
8. A degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering
9. A strong understanding of marine applications and installation principles
10. Knowledge of modern diesel engines, electric drive systems, control systems or electronics is highly valued
11. The ability to explain technical problems and solutions clearly to non technical stakeholders
12. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with customers, sales teams and engineers at every level
13. A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership
What you will be doing and Your new colleagues
In this role you will provide technical application support across the Volvo Penta marine engine range, ensuring installations are correctly specified, installed and commissioned from concept through to sea trials and delivery.
14. Providing expert technical support and guidance to customers, OEMs and boat builders
15. Commissioning marine engines and accessories and ensuring installations meet global standards
16. Supporting sales teams with application engineering and installation approval activities
17. Organising and participating in sea trials and producing detailed installation reports
18. Visiting customers/ OEMs to advise on design specifications and technical solutions
19. Supporting new projects and RFQs from early concept through build and evaluation
20. Delivering training and technical support to OEM engineering teams and dealer networks
21. Representing Volvo Penta at shows, exhibitions and industry events
You will report directly to the Head of Marine UK and work closely with Technical Sales and Application Engineers, the Area Sales Manager, the wider Volvo Penta Sales Support team, and global colleagues in Gothenburg, ensuring a joined-up approach to customer and OEM support.
