EMR is a global leader in sustainable materials recycling, committed to innovation, safety, and operational excellence. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Transport Manager to support our transport operations and enhance efficiency across our logistics network.
What you will be doing:
As Assistant Transport Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transport services. You'll support the Regional Transport Manager in overseeing daily logistics, managing driver teams, optimizing routes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in managing and monitoring transport operations to maximize efficiency and service quality.
• Oversee route planning, driver supervision, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, including health and safety standards.
• Support recruitment, training, and performance management of transport staff.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners for seamless operations.
• Monitor budgets and control expenses to meet financial targets.
• Maintain accurate records and generate reports on transport performance.
About you:
• Experience: Proven transport management experience, including team leadership and multi-site operations.
• Qualifications: Valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) – national or international.
• Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and a methodical approach.
• Knowledge: Good geographic knowledge of the operating area.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed.
