LUCS Duty Supervisor

LUCS is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join its team of Duty Supervisors at the Hub (Control Room) on the Astley Ainsley Hospital site in Edinburgh. This role involves controlling the allocation of telephone triage, appointments and visits for the service, linking in with partner organisations and systems. The successful candidate will interrogate data throughout their shift, assess demand and capacity, and advise clinical staff on the current situation.


Responsibilities

* Control allocation of telephone triage, appointments and visits.
* Interrogate data during shifts to assess demand and capacity.
* Advise clinical staff on the current situation.
* Work predominantly weekend shifts, with possible midweek shifts to support operations managers.
* Assist on public holidays and other ad‑hoc shifts as required.


Work Arrangement

The post is part–time and the salary will be pro–rata. The vacancy may close early once a sufficient number of applications are received, so early submission is encouraged. Candidates should ensure they have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible for sponsorship before applying.


Eligibility and Legal Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate entitlement to work in the United Kingdom, which may involve a UK visa, EU settled or pre‑settled status, or eligibility for a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. The pre‑employment checks will verify this entitlement. Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, the role may require a different level of criminal records check. If assessed as a regulated role, the appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
