Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Contract: Permanent – Grade 8
Hours: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. 8.30am – 3.45pm (15 min morning break & 1 hour lunch)

Working under the direction of the Headteacher, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children’s learning both individually and in groups, ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality education.
This role is ideal for someone who is:
1. Confident in delivering planned lessons to whole classes.
2. Experienced in supporting children with a range of needs.
3. Committed to fostering an engaging and positive learning environment.
What We Are Looking For
Old Mill Primary School is seeking a dedicated and motivated HLTA to join our supportive and inclusive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our pupils.
We are looking for someone who can:
4. Deliver lessons to whole classes, as well as support small groups and individuals.
5. Adapt and deliver engaging learning strategies, managing behaviour effectively.
6. Demonstrate strong organisational skills, including preparing resources.
7. Communicate effectively with colleagues, children and parents.
8. Be motivated, flexible and committed to high standards of professionalism and safeguarding.
Applicants should hold relevant qualifications and have experience delivering lessons across the primary phase, without the additional assessment and planning requirements of a teaching post.

This role is a permanent position supporting teaching and learning across the school. It includes elements of whole-class teaching alongside small group work and interventions, but without the additional assessment and planning responsibilities of a teacher.
