Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the implementation of a new 25kV isolation standard across the Eastern Region. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe and compliant delivery, working closely with Delivery Units (DU), engineering teams, and other stakeholders to embed the new standard and assess residual electrical hazards.

Duration: 9 months contract
Rate: £600-£700 per day (Inside IR35)
Responsibilities
* Ensure route compliance with the new isolation standard in line with the project implementation plan.
* Lead the development of residual electrical risk hazard registers with Delivery Units.
* Manage and develop solutions for signalling risk assessments required as part of the transition.
* Deliver technical briefings at both DU and Control levels.
* Promote and instil Level 1 Assurance activities within DU regimes.
* Support safety review processes, hazard workshops, and mentoring activities.
* Collaborate on post-implementation analysis, documentation updates, and transfer of active derogations.
* Drive close-out of safety and assurance actions, ensuring a smooth transition to the new standard.
Qualifications
* Strong background in rail engineering, with proven experience in electrical isolation and safety standards.
* Experience as a Project Engineer within major rail infrastructure programmes.
* Ability to lead technical workshops, safety briefings, and assurance activities.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of risk management, hazard analysis, and assurance frameworks.
* HNC or equivalent
