PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
· To maintain the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of the vehicles, contributing to the overall success of the logistics and transportation operations.
TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in a timely and accurate manner.
· Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including engine overhauls, brake repairs, suspension work, and more.
· Ensure all repairs and services are carried out to meet safety and quality standards.
· Complete maintenance and repair records, documenting work performed, and parts used.
· Collaborate with the Depot Manager, Compliance Officer and Transport Managers to prioritize and schedule repair jobs.
· Maintain a clean and organized workshop area.
· Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts and supplies.
· Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
To meet the standards of performance, behaviour and attendance as laid down by company policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Proven experience as a mechanic, with a focus on heavy vehicles.
· Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulics.
· Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools effectively.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
· A valid driver's license.
Working hours:
Monday-Friday- 08:00am-17:00pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
