🚀 Lead Product Engineer – Higher Education (Hybrid, London)
Are you a senior product engineering leader who thrives on transformation?
A prestigious London-based university (Zone 2) is undergoing a major digital change programme and is looking for an experienced Lead Product Engineer to help shape the future of its IT & Digital Services.
This newly created position offers the chance to rebuild trust with stakeholders, coach a motivated engineering team, and influence how technology supports over 7,500 students and staff every year.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and mentor a team of Product Engineers, building a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
* Oversee end-to-end delivery of technical and digital products, from roadmap to rollout.
* Work closely with Product Owners, Architects and Analysts to align products with strategic goals.
* Champion DevOps and agile practices to improve delivery and support.
* Shape the approach to ethical AI, automation and emerging technologies in a university setting.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven track record delivering and supporting digital products at scale.
* Strong stakeholder management and people leadership skills – especially coaching and mentoring.
* Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and agile methodologies.
* Comfortable operating in an evolving, fast-changing environment.
* Knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint) desirable.
(Experience in higher education is helpful but not essential.)
