Job Purpose
We are looking for a skilled and proactiveNetwork Maintenance Technicianto join our Regional Leakage Team, working across various sites in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Merseyside. Reporting to the Network Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of PMV and meter assets, playing a key role in delivering Effective Operations and Maintenance (EOM) and supporting the Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS). This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work across multiple locations, contributing to the performance and reliability of the water network. Your technical expertise and commitment to continuous improvement will help United Utilities maintain its position as an industry leader.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Diagnose, maintain, and optimisenetwork pressure management and flow measurement equipment through planned, reactive, and commissioning activities to ensure reliable and efficient network performance.
* Carry out a range of asset-based tasksincluding PMV, PSV, and meter maintenance (excluding commercial and domestic), logger installation, valve operations, and flushing mains to support commissioning and ongoing network integrity.
* Support operational excellenceby accurately documenting equipment performance, updating mobile systems, and contributing to data-driven improvements in asset reliability and long-term functionality.
* Promote safety and complianceby setting up work sites in line with NRSWA regulations, maintaining tools and equipment to required standards, and assisting during network incidents and emergencies.
* Collaborate effectivelywith colleagues, offering support when needed and contributing to a high-performing, responsive, and efficient team environment.
Technical Skills & Experience
* Adherence to all health and safety procedures, with the capability to operate machinery, equipment, and tools in challenging environments.
* Strong collaborative and communication skills essential for effective team operations.
* Previous operational experience in PMV, PSV, meter, and asset-based tasks, along with a solid understanding of the water network.
* Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
* Strong knowledge of water networks with hands-on experience in pressure management and the operation of PMV, PSV, and meter assets (excluding commercial and domestic).
* Technical and mechanical aptitude, supported by computer literacy and familiarity with systems such as LMP, SAP, WFM, AquaVista, and Onemap.
* Extensive operational experience, with the ability to apply practical skills and network understanding to maintain and optimise water infrastructure effectively.

Qualifications
* GCSE Grade C or above, City & Guilds, BTEC, T-Levels, or equivalent technical skills.
