Hi, we are looking for a nanny to care for our two children - 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy - for three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from July. The role includes starting at 8 to help get the children ready for school and nursery. Doing the morning school and nursery drop off - two different locations about 20 minute walk away. Morning duties while our son is at nursery include preparing dinner, baking, ironing, washing, light housework if needed. Collect our son at 12.30, give lunch and play at park or home or play date until collect our daughter from school at 3:15. Dinner then given at 4:30/5. Our children enjoy playing outside, playing with Toys, reading books, going to the library. Television is not allowed.
Our expectations of the nanny are that they are engaged with the children, that they enjoy being in their company and are interested in what they are doing. We would like the nanny to be fun and playful and have lots of energy. We do not encourage phone use - apart from as a map or for music - when with the children. The children are expected to adhere to clear boundaries as set by us, and to be respectful towards the nanny, as we would wish the nanny to be towards them. Manners are encouraged and as with most things, a flexible approach is needed. We do not use time out or other behaviour management techniques, rather try to talk with the children and encourage them to find solutions to their problems.
We would like the nanny to feel comfortable in our home and will do all that we can to ensure this is possible.
