Commercial Technology Associate/Senior Associate | 1–8 PQE | Leeds A leading global law firm with a market-leading Commercial Technology practice is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded team. This is a standout opportunity for a technology lawyer between the 1 – 8 PQE at the 1–3 PQE mark looking to work on complex, high-profile deals at the cutting edge of the sector. The Team You will be joining a team that is genuinely at the forefront of technology law. The practice handles sophisticated work across emerging tech — including AI, cloud, automation, blockchain and IT outsourcing — and is particularly well known for its strength in the financial services sector, advising major institutions, fintechs and regtechs alongside some of the world's largest technology and IT service providers. These are not run-of-the-mill instructions; this is headline-making, market-leading work. The Role The workload is intentionally varied. You can expect to advise across a broad range of customer and supplier-side technology contracts — from traditional IT and outsourcing arrangements through to contracts for AI systems and other disruptive technologies. The role also involves advising on technology-related regulatory requirements, supporting on the tech aspects of corporate transactions, and engaging in business development activity including client seminars and briefing papers. The Candidate You will have a solid grounding in technology and commercial law with a minimum of 1 year's PQE, and ideally up to 8 years. Experience advising on IT and outsourcing contracts is essential; any exposure to AI-related work would be a distinct advantage. You will be analytically sharp, commercially minded, and comfortable building relationships with clients across a range of sectors and cultures.
