As a Senior CT and MRI Radiographer at our Derby Hospital, you’ll have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge. Ideally, you’ll also have Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification, as well as the ability to work accurately and compassionately.
As a Senior CT / MRI Radiographer, you will:
* Have a postgraduate qualification and/ or high levels of technical knowledge and experience (desirable)
* Have experience in a wide variety of MRI and CT scans, including Cardiac MRI and/or Cardiac CT (desirable)
* Have experience with GE MRI and GE CT scanners (desirable)
* Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike.
* Be respectful towards all individuals, including staff patients and visitors.
* Supervise and develop junior colleagues
* Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion
* Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Have a proactive and forward‑thinking approach to work
* Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload
* Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice
* Responsible for MRI Safety in line with local rules
* To work within IRMER and own scope of practice in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC
* Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme
* Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
* Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health Policy
* Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedures
* Comply with all Nuffield Health polices and procedures
* Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements

About Nuffield Health Derby Hospital: The Nuffield Health Derby Hospital is a modern, purpose‑built hospital with 38 en‑suite beds, three operating theatres, and together with a comprehensive range of outpatient services. The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, MRI and CT. Set in beautiful grounds, we’re about 3 miles from the city centre, within easy reach of all major roads and bus routes.
