The successful candidate will be one of a number of junior Doctors who will be supported by a team of consultants, middle grades, junior doctors and Nurse Practitioners.

The role will cover all aspects of psychiatric care within a team. working at junior doctor grade. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who wishes to gain experience in psychiatry or to gain wider experience to help prepare them for higher training in psychiatry or for MRCPsych exams. The post will be adapted and supported to the level of the candidate. The post holder will be required to work on the junior doctor on-call rota.

This post is fixed term until August 4th 2026 to cover a Training vacancy.

Main duties of the job

The role will vary slightly depending on the team allocated and the experience of the candidate, but candidates can expect to experience inpatient and outpatient work and to be supported by seniors including 1 hour of dedicated supervision a week but full details are on attached JD and Person specification.

Qualifications and Professional Training

* • Full or Provisional registration with GMC
* • Prizes through medical school


Particular knowledge skills and experience

* • Experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.


Further Training

* • Understanding the principles of Audit

* • Experience of Management


Research and Training

* • Enthusiasm for teaching undergraduate and postgraduates
* • Willingness to undertake research

* • Prepared to be flexible in working patterns to meet the needs of the service
