Alexander Daniels is proud to be partnering with a well-established fast-paced service business in Derby to recruit a Finance Assistant for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role is ideally suited to someone with 1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts position who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. You will gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities, with the opportunity to build on your existing experience and progress within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing purchase invoices and supporting accounts payable activities
* Raising sales invoices and assisting with credit control
* Completing bank reconciliations and posting daily cash transactions
* Assisting with month-end tasks, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Supporting the preparation of management accounts
* Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
* Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong attention to detail
* Providing general support to the wider finance team
Skills & Experience
* 1–2 years’ experience within a finance or accounts role
* Experience with bank reconciliations / transactional finance duties
* Strong Excel skills (basic formulas, data handling)
* Good attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
* Confident communicator with a proactive and positive attitude
* Eagerness to learn and develop within a finance career
Qualifications
* AAT studying or keen to start – desirable
* Finance-related degree – advantageous but not essential
* GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
