I'm currently working with a well-established and highly regarded residential developer who is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join their growing team based in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who wants to play a key role in delivering high-quality housing schemes across the region.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you'll support the land and planning function in identifying, promoting, and securing residential development opportunities. You'll be involved throughout the planning lifecycle, from early-stage site assessments through to securing planning permissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications and appeals
* Conduct site appraisals and assess planning risks/opportunities
* Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
* Support strategic land promotion and Local Plan representations
* Monitor planning policy changes and advise the wider business
* Assist in negotiating Section 106 agreements
About You
* Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
* Working towards or already MRTPI qualified (desirable)
* Previous experience within residential development, consultancy, or local authority
* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
