Salary: Up to £34,948 pro rata
PLUS £4,500 ‘Golden Hello’ staged over 3 years
PLUS Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent)
PLUS, up to £5,000 professional development bursary for formal education and training qualifications including:
Level 3-5 Education & Teaching
Level 3 TAQA Assessor Qualification
Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Qualification

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking an inspiring and experienced Course Leader for Construction Professional Studies to lead and develop our Construction Higher Technical Qualifications programmes at Level 4. About the role:
As Course Leader, you will oversee the delivery, coordination, and development of the HNC Construction Management course, ensuring students acquire essential technical and professional skills aligned with modern industry requirements.
You will teach modules and provide academic leadership. An effective communicator and committed to delivering excellent student experiences, you will draw on your industry background to enrich teaching.
The ideal candidate will possess broad Construction knowledge and confidence teaching undergraduate students at Level 4. This role offers a chance to develop your academic career in a friendly environment, leveraging vocational experience to enhance student learning.
The successful candidate will have industry experience, a proven record of inspiring teaching at HE level, and a strong commitment to teaching and learning excellence.
You will be based at The Stephen Burke Construction Academy, responsible for programmes including Higher Nationals (HTQs) and professional qualifications. Main teaching areas may include:
- HNC Architectural Technology (Higher Technical Qualification) | Level 4
- HNC Civil Engineering | Level 4
- HNC Construction Management (Higher Technical Qualification) | Level 4
