We’re looking for an organised and proactive Transport Supervisor to support our Transport Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our operations. You will join our Transport team at our Heywood depot on a year fixed term contract.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 10:30 - 19:00 / 06:00 - 14:30 Rotating Shift

In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in driver management, compliance, and customer service, while helping maintain high operational standards.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

Driver & Daily Operations

1. Allocate drivers to routes and manage daily driver activity

2. Monitor driving behaviour, including unauthorised stops and accurate paperwork completion

3. Handle driver wage and holiday records

4. Support with agency driver bookings, spend tracking, and documentation

Compliance & Reporting

5. Print, review and file driver infringements and agency licence checks

6. Report vehicle defects, accidents (RTAs), and near misses

7. Ensure training on driver electronic pads is delivered effectively

8. Upload relevant documents to the Aquarius system

Communication & Coordination

9. Provide ETAs to drop points and liaise with customers professionally

10. Complete and send customer trackers and internal handovers

11. Coordinate vehicle breakdowns out of hours

Support & Admin

12. Order site fuel and assist with various admin tasks as required by the Transport Manager

13. Collaborate with peers across the transport network to ensure excellent service delivery

What We’re Looking For

14. Previous experience in a transport supervisory or coordination role

15. Strong attention to detail with good knowledge of driver hours and transport legislation

16. Solid IT skills — Excel, Word, and Outlook especially

17. Clear communication skills and a confident, team-focused attitude

18. Comfortable working to tight deadlines with a proactive, can-do mindset

19. Experience with transport management systems (desirable – training provided)
