Job Purpose
We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Project Manager to join the BBC Product Group’s Transformation team. The successful candidate will be leading a large body of work that drives us towards our strategic, digital first, ambitions.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in complex stakeholder management and strategic alignment. You will leverage expertise in digital transformation, product management, or tech startups to ensure we deliver impactful results aligned with our broader strategic goals. You’ll be a proactive leader, confident in challenging assumptions, proposing innovative solutions, and finding the right balance between creativity and pragmatism. You’ll also have strong communication skills, be highly organised and have the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to ensure clear, consistent messaging throughout the transformation journey.
This role requires a self-starter with a ‘can do’ approach and the ability to turn complex problems into actionable solutions and next steps. You will be at ease with both technical and non-technical experts and know when to draw on who to get the best results. Your team will rely on you and you will thrive in that central, critical position in the eye of the storm.
Whilst formal project management qualifications and experience working in large highly governed programmes is nice to have, it is not crucial. We work iteratively, often in ambiguous environments, and the ability to adapt quickly and keep things clear and moving forwards is more important.
We offer flexible working arrangements, so you can find a balance that works best for you. Please indicate your preference in the flexible working question during your application. While there’s no obligation to raise this at the application stage, we’ll discuss flexible working options further during the offer stage
