Purpose of Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join our established security team based in Merthyr Tydfil.
You will provide high-quality manned guarding services at a prestigious site, working as part of a professional team delivering a proactive, customer-focused security service.
Job Description
This role requires a flexible and reliable individual who can take responsibility for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and contractors.
You will carry out effective detection, prevention, and response activities, ensuring the integrity of site security at all times.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain high standards of site security through proactive patrols, monitoring, and incident response.
2. Carry out internal and external patrols to deter and detect security risks.
3. Undertake gatehouse duties, including access and egress control.
4. Perform reception duties, including visitor management and X-ray screening where required.
5. Monitor CCTV systems and respond to incidents appropriately.
6. Carry out control room duties, including key control and alarm monitoring.
7. Support the Security Supervisory and Management team in identifying and reporting security vulnerabilities.
8. Ensure all incidents, risks, and concerns are appropriately reported and addressed.
9. Demonstrate competency in the use of all security systems to maximise operational effectiveness.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
10. Previous security experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
11. SIA Frontline Licence (SG, DS, or CP) – Essential
12. SIA CCTV Licence – Desirable
13. Strong communication and customer service skills.
14. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
15. Flexible and reliable approach to working hours and duties.
