Technical Supervisor - Airdrie

The purpose of this role is to undertake supervisory duties on customer sites and while back at the depot, holding responsibility for leading Company employees, ensuring safe and compliant work and promoting Company/Depot success. The technical supervisor is responsible for successful completion of allocated works and projects, taking full ownership of project works, planning resources, manpower and equipment needs and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. They must communicate with the operations team and customers by email and in person, ensuring all are kept up to date with progress.
The technical supervisor must demonstrate a willingness and ability to work in a fast‑paced work environment, leading emergency response operations and/or response activities. This requires a hands‑on approach, solving problems and leading by example.
Responsibilities
* Leading Environmental Protective Services works, including liaising with operations/project management teams, organising equipment and materials needed, examples of which may be surface preparation, grit blasting works to standard and on time.
* Remediation, construction and groundworks, including visiting sites to support quoting, planning works, organising plant, equipment and materials needed, liaising with all stakeholders and ensuring ground working, OFTEC, excavations and reinstatement is completed on standard, safely and on time.
* Leading Industrial Services works, including visiting sites to support planning and quoting, organising equipment, access and materials needed, ensuring confined space entry is safe and compliant, ensuring tankering, BA and rescue operations are all correctly planned and conducted.
Qualifications
* Must possess relative licence categories to operate and control vehicles which the technical supervisor is qualified to operate.
* Demonstrate and promote thorough understanding of the importance of RAMS documentation and an ability to work safely within the scope of such documentation, ensuring all colleagues adhere to works instructions identified in RAMS.
* Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, with internal and external clients.
* Must possess knowledge of all aspects of environmental services related works.
* Previous experience of supervising/ managing various projects and on‑site teams.
* Be able to work under pressure to ensure works are delivered to time frames.
* Possessing IOSH managing, or SSSTS is advantageous.
* Construction and civils knowledge is desirable.
* Previous or current experience with plant operations is advantageous.
* Possessing or understanding of ADR requirements and tankers is desirable.
* HGV 1 & 2 is advantageous.
