Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across Primary SEN schools in the Wigan area, supporting pupils with moderate learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), ADHD, social/emotional needs, sensory processing difficulties, and other additional learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and develop key skills.
* Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials to meet the individual needs of each child.
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social communication.
* Implement personalised learning plans and contribute to EHCP support where relevant.
* Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
* Monitor progress, report observations, and maintain accurate records.
* Assist with personal care needs where required (training provided).

Requirements
* Experience supporting children with SEN (school-based or other relevant experience).
* Understanding of SEN such as ASD, MLD, ADHD, or communication needs.
* Strong communication, patience, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to remain calm, supportive, and adaptable throughout the school day.
* A positive attitude and passion for helping children reach their full potential.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Childcare, Psychology, Education) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
