Support. Guide. Transform.
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a resilient and committed Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a specialist Alternative Provision. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in education.
About the School:
This well-established Alternative Provision supports students who have been excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or require a more personalised and structured environment to meet their needs. The setting caters for pupils with SEMH needs, trauma backgrounds, behavioural challenges, and additional learning difficulties.
The provision offers a carefully adapted curriculum alongside therapeutic and pastoral support. Staff work collaboratively to build positive relationships, promote emotional regulation, and re-engage pupils with learning. Class sizes are small, allowing for consistent, targeted intervention and strong staff-student rapport.
The environment is structured, supportive, and centred around restorative practice and clear behavioural expectations.
The Role
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support across KS2–KS4

* Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
* A strong understanding of SEMH and trauma-informed practice
* Excellent behaviour management skills
* The ability to remain calm under pressure
* A consistent, firm but fair approach
