Band 2 Clerical Officer – Pharmacy Services (Beatson West, Glasgow)
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Pharmacy Services Preparative Services seeks an enthusiastic Band 2 Clerical Officer to join our pharmacy team at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
Responsibilities
* Reception duties: identify, locate, check for authorisation, print, prioritise and, if appropriate, hand prescriptions out to patients across handwritten, electronic or clinical trial prescriptions.
* Community supply service: check Chemocare for prescriptions authorised by a pharmacist, perform a transcription check ensuring the dose matches FP1O before scanning, emailing and posting out to relevant community pharmacy.
* Hospital transport delivery service: schedule delivery of prescriptions/dispensed medicines, liaise with the hospital transport team, use Trackcare to confirm patient addresses and phone numbers and update excel spreadsheets.
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures, local policies and protocols under pressure; organise and prioritise own workload, use initiative.
Qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Keyboard skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word; experience with Chemocare and Trackcare desirable.
* Previous reception duty experience desirable but full training provided.
* Band 2 (NHS pay band).
Hours & Location
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:45‑17:00 (16:30 on Friday) including public holidays. Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, Glasgow.
