Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Chemist to join our vibrant R&D team at our facility in Folkestone, Kent. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with diverse teams internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the EU Technical Service Team of Chemists to support post-launch maintenance and business continuity for EU brands.
2. Drive product development activities, including qualifying alternative manufacturing sites and raw material sources.
3. Collaborate with R&D process and manufacturing teams to understand and qualify process changes.
4. Develop and implement relevant test methods for product and process changes.
5. Plan and execute testing studies, coordinating with external partners when necessary.
6. Prepare and review critical documentation, including development plans and validation reports.
7. Facilitate design transfer activities to ensure successful product transitions to manufacturing.
8. Build strong working relationships with internal functions like supply chain, procurement, and quality, as well as external partners.
9. Provide operational support to maintain ongoing product manufacturing and contribute to quality improvement projects.
10. Manage project budgets and communicate progress regularly to project teams and PMO.
11. Stay informed about relevant regulations, including the EU Cosmetics Directive and Medical Device Regulation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree in sciences or a related field, with substantial industry experience in healthcare or personal care product development, including formulation, process, testing, and regulatory knowledge. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential for building effective cross-functional teams and strong relationships. A proactive, self-motivated individual with problem-solving skills and proficiency in MS Word and Excel will thrive in this role.
Working Conditions
Working hours are 39 per week: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.
