Responsibilities
The Bakery Operations Manager will lead operations across the entire factory, working cross‑functionally with quality, safety, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth operations and delivery of top‑quality products. With responsibility for 3 direct reports (Shift Managers) and a total team of 60, you’ll be hands‑on in driving continuous improvement, managing risk assessments, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Oversee full bakery operations, ensuring products meet quality and cost standards. Manage and support 3 x Shift Managers to ensure consistent performance across 24‑hour operations. Lead risk assessments, training, and accident investigations. Ensure quality issues are fully resolved and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented. Build a culture of accountability, holding teams to high performance standards.
Qualifications
* Strong managerial experience with the ability to lead and challenge teams.
* Experience managing a large workforce (40-60 people on shift).
* Bakery or food production background essential.
* Proven track record in continuous improvement.
* Auditing experience and customer‑facing skills.
* Level 3 Food Safety and IOSH qualification NEBOSH preferred.
