TEACHER OF SOCIAL SCIENCE OR HUMANITIES
(Maternity Cover - Potential TLR Opportunity)

Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Salary: MPS/UPS
Location: Northampton area

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate Teacher of Social Science or Humanities to join a forward-thinking and supportive school for a fixed-term maternity cover starting in September 2025.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the faculty, contributing to outstanding teaching and learning practices and supporting the ongoing development of a well-sequenced and engaging curriculum. The position includes the potential for a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) for the right candidate.

You will have the opportunity to:

* Collaborate with faculty leaders on curriculum design and delivery.

* Coach colleagues through deliberate practice to raise the quality of teaching.

* Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.

* Uphold and promote the values and ethos of the school community.

* Act as a form tutor and support the holistic development of students.

We're seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic professional who:

* Holds a relevant degree and qualified teacher status (QTS).

* Has a strong understanding of the Social Science or Humanities curriculum.

* Demonstrates high expectations for all students and a commitment to inclusive education.

* Can inspire, challenge, and support young people to achieve their potential.

* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Shows a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

* Deliver consistently high-quality lessons that enable excellent student progress.

* Contribute to the implementation of robust tracking systems to monitor progress.

* Foster a classroom and school culture of respect, responsibility, and high aspirations.

* Promote student welfare and support a safe and inclusive learning environment.

* Collaborate with colleagues across the wider school trust to share best practice.
