Job Description
We are working with a multinational retail business with a significant UK presence and an established office in Yorkshire. The business is seeking a Litigation Lawyer to join its in-house legal team at an exciting stage of growth.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a broad litigation portfolio while also expanding your remit into wider regulatory and risk areas, making it ideal for a litigator looking to develop a more rounded in-house profile.
The Role
You will:
* Manage and oversee a range of contentious matters, including commercial disputes, consumer claims and regulatory issues
* Instruct and manage external counsel where appropriate
* Provide practical, commercially focused advice to internal stakeholders
* Play a key role in developing the legal function’s involvement in areas such as:
* Compliance and regulatory risk
* Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
* Sanctions
* Data protection and privacy
Over time, there will be scope to shape the role and take on increased responsibility across these areas.
About You
You will be:
* A qualified solicitor with a strong litigation background (private practice or in-house)
* Commercially minded, with the ability to translate legal risk into clear business advice
* Interested in broadening your expertise beyond pure litigation into compliance and regulatory matters
* Confident working within a fast-paced, multinational environment
