Main Purpose of the role:
We are seeking Electrification Apprentices to carry out DC Electrification work as required by your Supervisor in Charge, Hand-Back or Project Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a DC Electrification Apprentice you will:
* Adjusting, replacing and installing conductor rails.
* Installation of insulator pots and cables.
* Drilling and tapping of rails.
* Fabrication and jointing of cables.
* Installation of Hook Switches and Track Disconnectors.
* Interpret drawings.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications:
* The ideal candidate will be committed to completing an NVQ level 2 in Track Engineering with a view to further developing their career with an NVQ level 3 in Track Engineering. To be successful in the role he /she will need good communication skills both written and verbal to excel.
* Minimum GCSE English and Maths C grade or equivalent (Good verbal/written communication and numeracy skills).
* Ability to work well as a team with all members of the company.
* Physically fit to meet the physical demands of working on track.
* Willingness to work nights or days depending on projects. Some weekend work maybe required due to the nature of our 24/7 in 365-day operations.
* Good communication and presentation skills.
* Good people skills to work across a diverse multi-ethnic.
* To be professional and always present a positive image.
* Fulfil time keeping and attendance expectations.
