Manufacturing Technician

💰 Pay: £14.14 per hour
📅 Contract: 3-month contract
⏰ Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join a dynamic microbiology-focused team. This role supports the development of solutions for infectious disease diagnostics and bacterial contamination detection across sectors such as public health, clinical laboratories, food safety, environmental testing, and pharmaceuticals.
Working within a manufacturing laboratory environment, you will be responsible for preparing reagents and intermediates, as well as performing testing in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in science and manufacturing, with full training provided.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine laboratory operations, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and calibration
Follow health and safety procedures, report concerns, and assist with COSHH documentation and risk assessments
Complete training modules, review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and support cross-training initiatives
Participate in team meetings and contribute to production planning and stock management
Prepare buffers, reagents, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with GMP standards
Perform testing and ensure all work meets quality and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory documentation
Manage inventory through SAP transactions and conduct regular stock counts
Identify and troubleshoot production or quality issues, supporting continuous improvement efforts
Assist with additional laboratory tasks as required

Essential Skills:
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to follow procedures accurately
Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safetyDesirable Skills:
Previous laboratory experience (advantageous but not essential)
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and standard procedures
