Job Description
We are looking for an environmental professional across all levels of experience to support our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK, based from any of WSP’s UK offices. You will work on projects spanning onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, rail, and more. This role is suitable for a pro‑active individual who wants to influence, manage and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects across a wide range of sectors.
A Little More About Your Role
* Providing environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
* Working with colleagues, diverse environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement
* Managing deliverables such as EIA screening requests, scoping reports, environmental constraints studies, environmental management plans and Environmental Statements
* Managing projects and overseeing performance on technical, quality, commercial and health & safety aspects
* Building relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to provide support in areas such as resourcing, programming, strategy development and project delivery
* Undertaking activities to secure new work, including preparing proposals, contributing to strategic-bid preparation, and participating in business development opportunities
* Supporting the development of innovative techniques such as Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, Future Ready EIA, etc.
* Inspiring and upskilling junior colleagues to support their career development
* Promoting an inclusive workplace and demonstrating an understanding of health and safety whilst living the values of our health, safety and wellbeing culture
* Contributing towards the success of the WSP business strategy, whilst being self‑motivated towards goals relevant to the role, team and projects
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Relevant environmental degree level qualification
* Achieved or demonstrably working towards Chartered Environmental Status and full membership of IEMA, or similar qualification with a relevant professional body
* Experience of EIA and related processes working with limited supervision within multi-disciplinary teams
* Knowledge and experience of relevant environmental and planning legislation
* Post‑qualified experience of coordinating environmental assessments on a variety of projects
* Appreciation of project management activities, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting and quality assurance
* Experience liaising with cross‑discipline teams, clients and external bodies and organisations
* Strong verbal and written communication skills including report writing with an attention to detail
