Professional Technical is working with a well-established Design Consultancy that is experiencing exceptional growth in their mechanical engineering team. This expansion is in response to a wide range of exciting long-term project requests from clients across all four of their market sectors. As a result, they are offering exciting career opportunities for outstanding senior mechanical engineers with extensive product development experience, ideally within the Consumer Goods and Medical Device industries, as part of their growing, dynamic technical team.
Responsibilities
* Manage and collaborate with talented individuals, taking a technical lead on diverse and challenging projects.
* Work within multi-functional project teams, closely with designers, electronics, software engineers, and other specialists to integrate visual and functional product aspects.
* Guide, support, and review the work of junior engineering team members.
* Manage the financial and commercial aspects of projects, including team organization, budget and timescale management, and client communication.
Qualifications
* A 1st or Upper 2nd class degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent broad-based technical qualification.
* Experience in a product design or development environment, applying CAE tools and computational techniques.
* A proven track record of delivering exceptional results across various projects and managing client relationships.
* Knowledge of low-volume rapid prototyping technologies and high-volume processes such as injection molding.
Day-to-day Activities
* Collaborate with world-leading experts on design and development projects with global impact.
* Design mechanisms, develop mathematical models, and build/test prototypes in advanced workshops and labs.
* Contribute to creating innovative IP, reducing costs and environmental impact, and enhancing manufacturability and product performance.
