Job overview

We are pleased to invite applications for an exciting internal secondment opportunity for the role of Deputy Chief Clinical Information Officer (Deputy CCIO) within West London NHS Trust.

This 12-month secondment offers a unique opportunity for a clinically experienced and digitally engaged professional to play a key leadership role in advancing the Trust’s digital transformation agenda. Working closely with the CCIO and senior clinical, operational, and informatics teams, the Deputy CCIO will support the design, implementation, and optimisation of digital systems that enhance patient care, safety, and staff experience.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Chief Clinical Information Officer (Deputy CCIO) is a senior clinical leadership role supporting the CCIO in delivering the Trust’s clinical digital vision. The post holder will provide expert clinical informatics leadership, acting as a bridge between clinical services, digital teams, and executive leadership to ensure that digital systems enable safe, effective, and high‑quality care.

This internally advertised role is designed to build clinical digital leadership capacity within the Trust and will focus on optimisation and safe use of the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems, particularly SystmOne and RiO, across mental health and community services.

The role will be undertaken alongside the post holder’s substantive role, with protected time agreed in job planning.
