Risk Dataernance - Associate / VP - Birmingham OUR Impact:
Risk Data is a high-profile team within Risk that is responsible for managing the data risk for the Risk Division. The core mandate is to partner with users and the technology organization to expand and improve the strategic data architecture that supports Risk workflows and to ensure the division adheres to and implements the firmwide dataernance strategy and the principles of BCBS 239 and other relevant data regulation.
YOUR Impact:
Risk Data is uniquely positioned within Risk to work on projects that span groups within Risk and across the firm. Risk Data helps to ensure that business data needs are met with technology solutions. Risk Data is responsible for implementing the Firm's dataernance policies, and owns the policies and implementation of risk specific policies on BCB 239 and other relevant data regulation.
We work with divisional stakeholders, to provide transparency into where data enters the firm, how it is transformed/reported/classified, and what data quality controls exist for critical datasets. Our internal clients use this information to gain insights - aiming to eliminate duplication, improve data quality, respond faster to new business opportunities, and to meet regulatory requirements.

1. Drive adoption of the firmwide dataernance framework in the division.
2. Manage initiatives to improve the quality of dataernance.
3. Work with data consumers and producers to negotiate ownership of data
4. Create lineage graphs to show how data moves from top of the flow ( trading, sales and deal systems) to lower down the flow ( risk reporting, regulatory reporting)
5. Developmunication and reference materials that enable data consumers and producers to implement the dataernance policy and standard
6. Define and create appropriate data validation controls
7. Provide data quality analytics that enable data consumers and producers to drive remediation efforts
8. Ensure internal policies and standards meet regulatory expectations, add value and are integrated into the division's day to day workflow.
9. Partner closely with divisions to define and evolve firmwide dataernance strategy
10. Partner with users and provide feedback on the strategic tooling to engineering teams for business use cases
11. Build consensus across senior stakeholders

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with stakeholders on projects to develop strategies and solutions, ideally related to data. Ability to work in a collaborative manner with stakeholders and drive consensus is essential. Experience working with a business team to develop functional requirements and translating those into technical requirements is important.
RESPONSIBILITIES
19. Play a central role in defining the strategic direction for Risk in data initiatives.
20. Drive adoption of the firmwide dataernance framework in the division.
21. Manage initiatives to improve the quality of dataernance.
22. Interface and coordinate with project team(s) to define objectives, develop approach, create detailed schedules, provide status updates and prepare deliverables for projects.
23. Document Data Lineage from source to reporting and ensure effective controls are in place from data entry to report production.
24. Perform in-depth analysis of Risk business processes and system issues to define, propose and implement strategic technological and procedural workflow improvements.
25. Partner with technology to ensure user tools for analyzing data meet users' needs
26. Prepare self-assessments against regulatory requirements for a variety of audiences ranging from supervisors to group and entity boards.
27. Engage with other divisions to drive firmwide policy and standard improvements.
28. Stakeholder management /sponsors and users of all levels
BASIC QUALIFICATION
29. Bachelor's degree
30. 3-5+ years' relevant experience
31. Excellentmunication, negotiation and influencing skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
41. Experience of dataernance or data management
42. Prior experience in financial services industry in Regulatory Reporting
