Full time hours on a temporary basis
* We’re looking for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to manage a caseload of planning applications and lead on complex enforcement matters. This full-time, temporary role includes site visits and attendance at Planning Committee.
Key responsibilities:
o Handle planning applications, pre-app enquiries, and discharge of conditions.
o Lead investigations into planning breaches, including legal proceedings.
o Supervise and mentor junior enforcement officers.
o Engage with the public and stakeholders to resolve planning issues.
o Ensure legal compliance and contribute to enforcement policy development.
o Prepare reports and present evidence at hearings and appeals.
Skills & Experience:
o Strong knowledge of planning law and enforcement procedures.
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
o Proven experience managing complex cases and leading teams.
