I’m partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing grid engineering organisation that is expanding its Protection & Control (P&C) team.
This team is heavily involved in end-to-end project delivery - from engineering and design through to testing and on-site commissioning.
About the Role
As the Setting Calculation Lead Engineer, you’ll sit within the engineering and execution function, focusing on protection studies, settings, and parameter definition that underpin the configuration of digital relays and IEDs used to protect HV assets.
You’ll prepare the technical groundwork for protection configuration, working closely with design, testing, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Produce protection settings and coordination studies (distance, differential, overcurrent, earth fault)
* Prepare settings and parameters for numerical relays and IEDs used in HV substations
* Interpret short-circuit, load flow, and arc flash studies to define protection philosophies
* Support engineering delivery through design reviews, FAT witnessing, and site commissioning support
* Contribute to engineering standards, templates, and best practices
Why Join
* Support for TP141 authorisation - training provided - estimated 6 months to 1 year
* Opportunity to build the setting calculation team from scratch
* Strong order book with guaranteed work for at least 2 years
* Business growth of ~20% year-on-year over the last two years
* Continued expansion planned over the next 5–6 years
* Exposure to complex, high-profile energy transition projects
