About The Team

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed social workers who have the passion and drive to make a positive difference in children’s lives and who can motivate networks around young people to achieve excellent standards of care and support.

Our Child and Family Teams specialise in care planning for children who require care and support, including cases subject to child protection planning, PLO and Court, and adoption work. A dedicated service enables more focus on risk management to avoid escalation. The overall aim is to reduce the need for PLO, child and family separations, and care proceedings.

What the Role Entails

* Direct care planning for children in need of support and protection.
* Managing child protection and adoption cases, working within the legal and court frameworks.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, service providers, and families to develop and implement effective care plans.
* Providing support within PLO and Court arrangements, monitoring outcomes, and escalating risks as required.

Qualifications

* Registration with Social Care Wales.
* Minimally 3 years post‑qualifying social work experience for the Experienced Social Worker (Grade 12) post.
* For students: final year students with an expected qualification date this year are welcome to apply for temporary Assessor Care Manager roles.
* Strong understanding of child protection frameworks, risk assessment, and collaborative practice.
