NOTE: This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years. Salary: £50,269 - £53,460 The Energy Management Team are currently looking for a Project Manager with experience of delivering energy management and decarbonisation projects from initial feasibility right through to handover and across a wide-ranging property portfolio that includes schools, leisure facilities, museums and office accommodation. The successful candidate will take control of a wide range of projects which will include strategy development, procurement of works, and contract and programme management, whilst providing regular finance and performance updates to senior management and key shareholders. Role Profile The role will involve the project and contract management of a wide range of projects such as the installation of solar photovoltaic system and retrofitting air and ground source heating systems to complex commercial building, ensuring works are safely delivered on time and on budget. Provide regular project and financial updates and reports to management and wider stakeholders. Support the wider Energy Management Team to provide technical support and analysis of building energy management systems (BEMS) heating controls, operational performance, and other relevant supporting information to identify opportunities for energy reduction. The role holder will manage and monitor budgets and financial risks associated with programmes and projects to ensure effective management and financial propriety. Lead and supporting cross team, divisional and corporate projects will be required particularly in support of corporate priorities and to manage external consultants engaged to deliver specific contracts/projects. Lead the development and preparation of bids for funding linked to strategies, including Lottery and European funding whilst maintaining an overview of regeneration strategies and programmes in Salford and the City Region ensuring they link together. Collaborative working on a corporate basis with services across the Council, participating in and leading cross-directorate teams and working on a partnership basis with a range of organisations including public, private, community and voluntary. Develop corporate programmes, plans, bids and initiatives that involve working with a wide range of partners / stakeholders including public and private organisations at a senior level. Essential Requirements Degree or equivalent qualification in appropriate engineering/environmental or project management discipline. Minimum 2-3 years post qualification experience within construction Project Management ideally within the energy decarbonisation sector. Technical understanding of building services and low carbon / renewable technologies Highly computer literate in PC based systems including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge and understanding of relevant energy-related policies, legislation, and initiatives. Ability to establish a good working relationship with Clients and colleagues. Self-motivated and able to work without supervision. Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. Good communication and customer skills. Ability to demonstrate flexible approach to work. A knowledge of current legislation, e.g., Health & Safety, CDM, Building Regulations, Planning. Full driving licence and access to own vehicle. To model and demonstrate our values. Desirable Requirements Experience of carrying out energy management and water audits within either a local authority or large organisations. Membership of a relevant professional body, e.g. CIBSE, Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Energy institute or similar. Use of Systemslink Energy Management database Use of CAD Software (e.g. DWG TrueView). Experience in education projects. Experience of local authority sector.
