The Director of HR and Corporate Services is at the heart of the business. Taking a lead on the HR, Risk, Legal andCompliance functions, this role is responsible for all internal operations, and also supports centralfunctions.
A strong part of our culture is local accountability and as such this role will enable others to make decisions,devolving appropriate responsibilities on areas such as HR, procurement, contract management and facilities toother parts of the organisation while taking a strategic overview.
This is a new role where the postholder will have scope to review and update responsibilities, in conjunction withthe CEO, to ensure the function works across the organisation.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Required Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running in this role and therefore we require candidates tohave:
* Experience of working at a senior level within an organisation;

The Director of Operations reports to the CEO, and attends all Board meetings.
Overall Purpose
The Director of Operations is responsible for governance and operations for Edinburgh City Mission. With specificoversight of finance, fundraising, IT, HR, communications, building management and governance; including DataProtection; Safeguarding and Health & Safety. As such, they lead & line manage the Operations team andwill regularly report to the Board on all aspects of their role.
Hours of Employment
35 hours a week, worked flexibly with at least 4 days a week in the office. Hours will vary due to occasional staffmeetings, training, events, etc.
