Assistant Fleet Engineering Manager – Southampton
Location: Botley (with travel to other sites and occasional overnight stays)
Salary: £36,000
Hours: 40 hours per week

What You’ll Do
*
Ensure the legal compliance of the fleet in line with operator licence obligations and DVSA regulations.

Support the planning and delivery of a robust fleet management strategy.
*
Work closely with depot managers and suppliers to provide effective fleet support across multiple sites.
*
Identify, implement, and maintain company operating procedures for LGV/HGV maintenance.
*
Carry out audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
*
Provide guidance and training to operational staff on all fleet-related matters.
*
Manage and monitor annual test programmes to achieve high first-time pass rates.
*
Assist with MOTs, servicing, vehicle taxation, and insurance requirements.
*
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and the effective use of vehicle tracking and camera systems.
About You
*
Previous experience in fleet management, ideally with a mechanical engineering background.
*
Skilled in using fleet management systems and MS Office tools.
*
Excellent communicator — confident at all levels, internally and externally.
*
Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
*
A full UK driving licence.
