Station Manager is required to oversee the day-to-day operation of WFS refuelling services. The role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and correct handling and storage of aviation fuel from receipt into airport storage to delivery into aircraft. The manager must ensure all operational and quality control standards are met.
Location: London, Luton, Northolt, and Southampton
Responsibilities:
* Operate in accordance with the highest standards of Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) compliance; proactively assess, identify, and report SSHE-related matters or incidents; and fully participate in and utilize the Company’s Loss Prevention Systems and tools.
* Ensure that product storage and the into-plane fueling operations are conducted safely, environmentally soundly, and in line with WFS Safety and Operational standards.
* Maintain compliance with WFS Aviation, Airline, and Consortium Inspections standards.
* Plan manpower and vehicle utilization to ensure an efficient operation capable of providing timely service to airline customers.
* Implement emergency procedures in case of incidents.
* Liaise with customers regarding workloads and schedules; ensure service requirements are met; investigate and resolve complaints.
* Coordinate with third parties including other refuelling companies, supply terminals, Airport Authority, and other airport users, as well as joint venture partners and WFS departments.
* Build and maintain relationships with airport authorities to improve safety performance on the apron.
* Implement best practices and follow up on recommendations from inspections and audits.
* Investigate incidents initially and collaborate with the Operations Manager to implement necessary recommendations.
* Identify operational issues and develop solutions to enhance safety and cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain Hydrocarbon Control Practices (HCP) documentation for the location.
* Serve as a focal point for communication within the technician team.
* Supervise technicians, ensure adherence to policies, and report on staff data for payroll and KPIs such as overtime, absence, and working hours.
* Ensure training and induction of site contractors.
* Issue work permits and minor work authorities to contractors following WFS policies.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the aviation fuels sector, with at least 2 years in personnel and operations management.
* Experience in leading teams in a dynamic operational environment is essential.
* Desirable: Aviation fuel operations management experience.
* Essential: Knowledge of Risk Assessment & Management.
* Desirable: Working knowledge of Fuel Management Systems.
* Desirable: Commercial/Business Development experience.
* Essential: QHSE work experience.
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including Maths and English.
* Desirable: A Level education and a University Degree.
* HGV Class 1 Driving License is desirable.
