Gritters - Class 2 HGV Drivers (6-8 month FTC) Location: Trafford, Manchester Salary: £470 weekly rate guaranteed Contract type: Fixed term contract 6-8 months. Start early-mid October. Working hours: On call & Weather dependent - Evenings & Nights from 5-6pm as required (typically 5 hour shifts) About the role The Gritter/ Class 2 Driver positions are essential for keeping roadways safe and accessible during winter. This role involves operating snowploughs and other equipment to clear roads, highways, and public areas of snow and ice, ensuring safe transportation. You'll work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, with call out hours based on weather demands. Requirements Valid HGV Class 2 Driver's License with a clean driving record. Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) - beneficial although training can be provided early October if required Certification in Snow and Ice Control Operations is advantageous. Winter Maintenance Certification desirable but training will be given Experience in Operating Heavy Machinery or Snow Removal Equipment. Familiarity with Local Geography and Road Systems Full, Clean UK Driving Licence Pass Drug & Alcohol Test Why join us?
