Salary: up to £39,605.59 per annum
Leeds International Study Centre and its programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University.
You will work with colleagues across the Centre to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with our education strategy, broader scholarship, and aims for an outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Centre. As a tutor, you will contribute to the design, development, and production of teaching and learning materials and delivery across a range of modules or within a subject area.
ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Provide academic coordination for designated module(s) as a module coordinator.
2. Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to contribute to the effective overall management of programmes and the student lifecycle.
3. Contribute to the design, delivery, and development of modules offered by the centre.
4. Contribute to the delivery and assessment of provision.
5. Prepare module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, mark, and provide feedback to students.
6. Update and maintain the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
7. Collaborate with the Student Experience Team and Registry and Operations Team in delivering induction, orientation, and registration programmes.
8. Liaise with the Progression, Welfare, and Support team to support students in achieving their progression goals.
9. Engage in scholarly activity to ensure modules are current.
10. Implement quality assurance procedures at the module level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of the programme to maintain high standards.
11. Use centre systems to log and monitor student attendance.
12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student engagement.
13. Complete sponsor reports and academic reports for students.
14. Participate in opportunities such as VLE development and peer observation activities.
15. Undertake teaching, learning, and assessment observations and staff development plans to uphold standards within the subject area.
16. Perform any other duties as required by the Head of Science and the Senior Leadership Team.
17. Promote health, safety, and wellbeing of students and colleagues, holding personal accountability to prevent actions that could threaten safety.
ABOUT YOU
1. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area.
2. A Master's qualification is desirable.
3. Candidates holding a PhD will be particularly welcomed.
4. Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education, preferably with a teaching qualification and experience working with international students.
