Temporary Works Coordinator–Infrastructure
Location – United Kingdom
What you will be doing:
* Coordinate all temporary works activities.
* Maintain a temporary works register.
* Receive relevant information from the client, principal designer, and permanent works designer.
* Prepare design briefs with consultation within the project team, ensuring they are adequate and site-appropriate.
* Reference other temporary works in the vicinity in the design brief.
* Issue the design brief to the Temporary Works Designer (TWD) for satisfactory design.
* Ensure design checks are carried out by independent personnel.
* Make certified temporary works design info available to relevant parties, including the client.
* Register drawings, calculations, and relevant documents related to the final design.
* Obtain necessary client and third-party approvals.
* Ensure on-site supervision receives all design details, residual risks, limitations, and guidance notes, and that method statements are prepared.
* Prepare inspection and test plans with quality control checklists.
* Check proposed material or construction changes against the original design and act accordingly.
* Conduct checks, inspections, and tests at appropriate stages.
* Inform the designer of any scheme modifications or differences from conditions.
* Rectify discrepancies between certified and as-built temporary works before loading.
* Issue permits to load or proceed after final satisfactory checks.
* Ensure maintenance of temporary works during use.
* Issue permits for unloading or proceeding when the structure is stable.
* Implement a safe system of work for dismantling temporary works.
* Transmit relevant information for the health and safety file to the principal designer.
