Sara Slade Interior Design is a small, founder-led interior design practice working on residential and commercial schemes. We are a close-knit team and the studio is at a point of growth where we are putting better foundations in place for the next chapter. We care about the work, about doing it properly, and about looking after each other while we do it.
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced part-time studio manager to take ownership of how the studio runs day to day. This is the role that holds the engine room: finance admin, supplier and contract coordination, internal systems, freelancer onboarding, team wellbeing, and the operational rhythm that keeps a busy interiors studio working calmly. This is a deliberate split from project management. Our project manager runs the work; you run the studio. You will work closely with her and report directly to the founder. You will have wide autonomy from day one and be expected to make decisions on operational matters without needing to check in.
The role is two days a week. Days are flexible by mutual agreement, and we are open to one day in studio and one day remote, or two days in studio - whichever works best for you and the rhythm of the team.
About you
* Experience in studio management, practice management, or operations within a small creative or professional services business - architecture, interiors, design, or similar.
* Confident with finance basics: invoices, expenses, supplier accounts, and liaising with an external accountant.
* Highly organised and naturally calm under pressure. The kind of person who notices what is about to fall over before it does.
* Comfortable making operational decisions on your own. We need someone who acts, not someone who waits.
* Warm, discreet, and genuinely interested in looking after a team.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Familiarity with project management or studio software (e.g. Monday & Xero).
* An interest in interiors, architecture, or design - you do not need to be a designer, but caring about the work helps.
* Experience hiring or onboarding freelancers and contractors.
