Offer description

Do you have an inquisitive mind? Do you enjoy engaging with customers? If so, we need you!

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy, helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners, and protecting vulnerable populations. Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt’s (CFCD) goal is to reduce fraud, error, and debt within the benefit system, safeguarding public funds.

As part of CFCD, you will be central to DWP’s efforts to minimize fraud and error. This is a vital public service, and our challenge is greater than ever.

If you seek an organization that values work-life balance, offers opportunities to learn new skills, and supports career progression, then CFCD is the right place for you.

The CFCD CBRS Grade 7 (G7) leads the Directorate’s approach to ensuring compliance with Security, Data, and Information requirements. This role involves managing responses to Briefings and FOI requests through a Briefing Hatch function, identifying and mitigating key risks, and maintaining effective controls to ensure CFCD security.

Leading a small team, you will work closely and collaboratively with team members, which is essential for this role.

The G7 is responsible for delivering core functions including:

* Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate CFCD Risks, aligning with the DWP Risk Management Framework, and providing narrative inputs for the DWP Services and Fraud Risk Plan.
* Reporting risks and mitigation activities to inform decision-making by the Performance Risk and Deployment Board and the executive team.
* Integrating risk awareness into routine business activities.
* Working with fraud, error, and debt (FED) Policy and CFCD Functional areas to respond effectively to briefings via the CFCD Briefing Hatch, ensuring timely responses.
* Enhancing the Briefing Hatch function to meet growing FOI and briefing requirements.
* Collaborating with DWP Security and Information Management to ensure compliance, manage risks, and develop improvement plans.
* Promoting Security, Data, and Information awareness to improve compliance.
* Developing and managing the CFCD Business Continuity Plan within the DWP framework.
* Coordinating activities to ensure business continuity plans are in place and tested across CFCD.
* Supporting access to small-scale portals and establishing new processes as needed.
* Assisting with the DWP ID Badging Process for colleagues requiring identification during visits.

Due to the team’s geographical dispersion, this role requires frequent travel and overnight stays.

Please ensure your personal statement directly answers the targeted question in the selection process, demonstrating how your experience aligns with the key criteria for this role.
